An area extending between the Vigezzo Valley, the Cannobina Valley and the Alto Verbano, the Val Grande represents the largest wilderness area in Europe. It became a park in 1992. Wild and uncontaminated the Val Grande conserves its natural appearance alternating between woods, alpine lakes and solitary peaks. Though this area was abandoned by man we can still see signs that it was inhabited in the past.
From the hills of Lake Maggiore to the spectacle of the Alps on a natural terrace above the lake, an itinerary which goes from Miazzina to Pian Cavallone.
An easy walk which gives wide views, on one side the Ossola valley with its dynamic flourishing villages and on the other the Val Grande with its silence and many woods.
