Towards to great alpine lakes

An itinerary of great interest to show us the perfect union between man and nature, on one side beautiful alpine scenes and on the other the capability of man to use natural resources.

This walk is in the high alps of the Formazza Valley with the alpine pastures and panoramas of the lakes. There are hydroelectric dams built in the 1930’s to use the water power. From the wide valley of Lake Vanino we reach the dam and Margaroli refuge hut from where we have wonderful views of the Arbola and Scatta Minoia mountain ranges.
